Company History

Middleware Associates was founded in January, 2004, by Patrick Conners as an enterprise security consulting firm specializing in middleware integration of enterprise access control systems to HR databases and other applications. The company also managed large enterprise projects involving the migration of databases from legacy systems to newer modern enterprise systems.

In 2005, Middleware Associates signed on with HID Corporation as the first software development partner [networked access partner] for their new line of VertX and EDGE IP Readers.  At the ASIS show in 2005 in Orlando, Middleware Associates presented the first Edge reader under the pre-launch name Proviso-IP.  Since 2005, Middleware Associates has sold thousands of HID EDGE readers along with access control software licenses to manage them in a hosted environment.  Since then HID has experienced tremendous growth with EDGE, naming it one of its fastest growing products.

Today Middleware Associates continues to develop new software features that meet the request of its customers.  The software is sold under the brand name Access Metrics in North America, Central America and South America. For the rest of the world the software is offered by Midpoint Security dealers under the brand name SimpleID.
